Processed in your browser - never uploaded
A PDF to Text converter pulls the words out of a PDF and drops them into a plain .txt file you can open, edit and search in any text editor. If you have ever tried to copy a few paragraphs out of a PDF only to end up with broken line breaks or nothing at all, this tool gives you the whole text layer in one clean step.
Everything happens right here in your browser. The conversion runs locally using WebAssembly, so your PDF is never uploaded to a server, never stored, and never seen by anyone but you. That makes it a sensible choice for statements, contracts, reports and anything else you would rather not hand to a random website.
One honest caveat worth knowing up front: this tool reads the selectable text layer inside a PDF. If your PDF is a scan or a photo of a page, it has no text layer to extract, so you will get an empty result. Recognising text inside images needs OCR, which is a separate feature we are working on.
Add your PDF
Drag and drop your PDF onto the page, or click to browse and select it from your device. The file stays on your computer and is loaded straight into the browser rather than sent anywhere.
Set your options
Review the extraction settings for your plain-text output before you run it. In most cases the defaults are fine, so you can simply confirm and move on.
Run the extraction
Start the conversion and let the tool read the text layer from every page. The work is done locally by WebAssembly, so it usually takes only a moment and nothing leaves your device.
Download your text file
Once it finishes, download the resulting .txt file. Open it in any text editor, notes app or word processor to read, edit or copy the content.
Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded, stored or shared. Nothing touches a server, which matters when you are dealing with financial statements, contracts or personal documents.
There is no account to create, no email to hand over and no watermark on the output. Just add a file and get your text back.
You get a straightforward .txt file that is easy to search, edit and paste elsewhere. It works nicely as a source for notes, translation tools or accessibility software.
Because the conversion runs locally with WebAssembly, there is no upload wait and no round trip to a server. Most documents extract in seconds.
Most online PDF tools upload your document to a server to process it. This one does not. Every operation runs inside your own browser using WebAssembly, so your files are read, processed, and saved locally - they are never transmitted, stored, or seen by Sapphire Broking or anyone else. That makes it safe to use with financial statements, contracts, and identity documents.
No. The entire conversion runs inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your file never leaves your device and is never sent to or stored on any server.
That almost always means your PDF is a scan or an image of a page, which has no selectable text layer to extract. Reading text from images requires OCR, a separate feature we are still building.
Open the PDF in a normal viewer and try selecting or highlighting a sentence with your cursor. If the text highlights, it has a text layer this tool can extract; if nothing selects, it is likely a scan.
No, the output is plain text, so fonts, colours, columns and images are not preserved. You get the readable words in reading order, ready to edit or paste elsewhere.
Not at all. It runs in any modern web browser with nothing to install, no sign-up and no cost.
There is no fixed limit imposed by us, but because everything is processed locally, very large PDFs are bounded by your device's memory and speed. Most everyday documents extract quickly.
